Getting Started - Step Two

Now that you have a notebook with a research log, it's time to actually get going with your own family history.

A=Install PAF. This is family history software that will help you organize your pedigree and family group sheets.

B=Enter your immediate family names, dates and places. (detailed instructions)

C=Look all around your house for more information, birth certificates, marriage certificates, pedigree charts from Grandma, etc.

Keep going until you have exhausted your personal knowledge and the resources in your house. If you feel like looking for more, give your family members a call for more detailed information. Add your grandparents, uncles, aunts until you come to a deadend and can't add any more information.

Now you're ready for step three.
